An historic British brand established in 1851 in Regent Street, London. In 1983, they successfully produced a world first 'waterproof wool' blend, and launched Aquascutum. The original Latin translates as 'Water Shield'.
Aquascutum later secured commission to provide British military servicemen with outerwear, and in 1897 were granted a Royal Warrant to start a long-standing patronage with the British Royal Family.
In 1953 Aquascutum supplied their outerwear to Edmund Hillary, who completed the first recorded ascent of Mount Everest in a fabric built to withstand 100mph winds.
More recently, Aquascutum has been worn by Michael Caine, Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, Winston Churchill, and more.
